Return to Your Inner landscape with a Yoga and Art Retreat Weekend at Tofte Manor.
Turn towards your inner landscape for an inspirational weekend of yoga, guided art, great food & fantastic company, in the most delightful of surroundings, Tofte Manor.
The weekend invites you deeply into the heart of yourself, while providing the nurturing environment to also deepen friendships with each other. The magic gem, Tofte Manor is powerfully inspiring, allowing you to work within clear, tranquil and uninterrupted space.
The yoga will focus on blending and realigning energies on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Reminding ourselves that only through kindness and compassion are we more likely to improve prana, (life-force), vitality and that sacred union of peace within ourselves.
About Tofte Manor:
The magic of Tofte Manor is held in its five acres of landscaped gardens, serenity and space, secret places, rose arbours, ancient trees, its labyrinth, its history and the lovingly restored interiors of this wonderful 17th century manor house. What makes Tofte Manor different is the harmonious, holistic environment they provide, as well as the fact that the manor house still retains its purpose as a home, which gives it a unique atmosphere of privacy and comfort whilst still delivering top quality service, accommodation and catering.
The labyrinth is a source of ageless beauty incorporating the elements of earth, air, fire and water. The pure water which runs through the labyrinth can be drunk to cleanse your body. Walking the labyrinth will bring balance to your body and peace to your mind. We will walk to the left and then to the right, thereby activating the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Once one has walked the labyrinth into the centre and out again one has done exactly the same amount of left and right hand turns, creating a balance in the hemispheres of the brain. In this way the labyrinth creates balance in our physical bodies and harmony on many levels.
The Manor House has five luxurious bedrooms with shared bathrooms, created with imagination and attention to detail for your comfort. Three of the bedrooms are doubles, and two are twin-bedded which can be converted to doubles if required. All rooms have delicious tea, coffee and snack facilities, as well as access to TV and Wi-Fi internet.
The old Stables Courtyard has been carefully restored and converted into beautifully designed contemporary cottages surrounding a central courtyard. The Stables Courtyard has seven bedrooms, which comprise of en-suite doubles or twin-bedrooms. They are beautiful!
This beautiful yoga weekend will increase circulation throughout your entire body, bring about a sense of balance and ease, boost your immune system, bring greater harmony to your mind, enliven your spirit, kindle friendships with others and deeply connect you to the elements of mother nature and your creative self.
All food is vegetarian and prepared with loving kindness by the professional staff at Tofte Manor. Details to follow once the menu is finalised.

Artist David’s painting, can best be described as having a loosely and largely unconsciously based imaginative relationship with aspects of landscape – in particular, rock surfaces and their hallucinatory capacity to evoke dream states and imaginative other worlds. He is fascinated by how liminal states of attention and awareness – states on the border between consciousness and unconsciousness – can open up a whole new visual territory – one that effectively re-instates the primacy of imagination. In the process, attempting to form a bridge between consciousness and unconsciousness – meticulously structuring intuitive responses to random marks, lines and colours. Fundamental to David’s work is a commitment to the revealing power of imagination and a belief that, through imaginative processes, the individual transcends the illusion of appearances and accesses the trans-personal and archetypal.
Wendy weaves and expresses her life-story through the absolute joys of teaching yoga. Drawing her inspiration from the academy of life with primary influences coming from travelling the world, her environmental science and sports science degree, skills learnt as a teacher, being a mother, wife and ultimate student of life. Nowadays, her teacher is everyone she meets, including the darkness and lightness of her inner world. Wendy’s teachers reflect abundant love and encouragement along her path. Infinite gratitude goes to Sianna Sherman, Bridget Woods- Kramer and Jayendra Hanley for safely guiding her through the depths and understandings of herself, leaving her empowered to express her creative freedom in the inspirational world of Anusara Yoga, love and life. She believes love is always the answer.
